AI Voice Receptionist
AI Receptionist for Driving Schools: Answer Every Call, Even Mid-Lesson
Meet Amber, your AI Voice Receptionist. She answers your driving school’s calls 24/7 in a friendly British voice, takes pupil enquiries and emails you a summary after every call. From £24.99 a month.
To hear Amber in action, just call 020 8194 1993.
You can't answer the phone mid-lesson
You’re on a manoeuvre, the phone rings, and you let it go. Most callers won’t leave a voicemail. They ring the next driving school on the list, and that pupil is gone.
- Calls missed during lessons, every day
- Voicemails nobody leaves
- Evening and weekend enquiries that go unanswered
- Pupils who book with whoever picks up first
How much are missed calls costing you?
Not every missed call would have become a pupil. Set how many calls you miss and how many would have booked.
Based on a pupil needing about 45 hours of lessons at £38 an hour, which is £1,710. It is a guide, not a promise: test-day car hire (typically £120 to £135) is not counted, and a full diary is about £79,000 of lessons a year, so if your result is close to that, lower the sliders. These are gross lesson fees before your costs, not guaranteed extra income, and may be earned over more than a year. At these figures, one pupil’s lesson fees (£1,710, before costs) come to more than five years of Amber’s Entry plan (£24.99 a month).
How it works
Three steps. No missed enquiries.
Step 1: Amber answers your calls
Calls to your driving school are answered by Amber, day or night, while you keep teaching.
Step 2: She helps the caller
She answers questions about your lessons, prices and areas, then takes the pupil's details, a callback request or a message.
Step 3: You get the details
Straight after the call, a summary lands in your inbox, with the full transcript if you choose.
Getting set up
You keep your own number. Amber answers when you can’t.
Step 1: Get Amber's number
We set Amber up with your lessons, prices and areas and give you her number. Set-up is a one-off £49, done within 48 hours.
Step 2: Divert your mobile to her
Forward calls to Amber when you're busy, decline a call or don't answer. It takes a couple of minutes on most phones.
Step 3: Make a test call
Ring your own number and hear her answer. Decline a call or let it ring and it goes to Amber; pick up and it's you.

Amber: Good afternoon. Thank you for calling Smith’s Driving School, Amber speaking. Just so you know, calls are recorded and transcribed for quality and training. How may I assist you today?
Caller: Hi, do you do automatic lessons? I live in Sutton.
Amber: We do, and Sutton is one of our areas. Have you had any lessons before?
Caller: A few, but in a manual.
Amber: No problem. Can I take your name?
Caller: James.
Amber: Thanks, James. And what’s your postcode, so we can check we cover your area?

Amber: Perfect. Have you passed your theory test yet?
Caller: Yes, last month.
Amber: Great. Is the number you’re calling from, ending 687, the best one to reach you on?
Caller: Yes, that’s fine.
Amber: Lovely. I’ll ask a member of our team to call you back about automatic lessons. Is there a good time?
Caller: After 5 would be great.
Amber: Thanks, I’ve noted that after 5 suits you best and passed it on with your details. Thanks for calling, James.

Questions instructors ask
Will callers know it's AI?
Amber introduces herself by name at the start of each call, and if a caller asks whether they’re speaking to a real person, she says she’s an AI receptionist.
Can I keep my number?
Yes. Your number stays yours. You set your mobile to forward calls to Amber’s number, so a call you decline or don’t answer goes to her instead of voicemail.
How do I divert my calls to Amber?
On your mobile you forward calls “when busy” and “when unanswered” to Amber’s number. The exact steps depend on your phone and network, so we send you the right ones when we set you up, and you make a test call to check it works.
How do I switch the diversion off?
You can cancel call forwarding on your phone at any time, and your normal voicemail comes straight back. We show you how when we set you up.
What happens out of hours?
Amber still answers. She won’t transfer the call to you; she takes the pupil’s details or a message and emails it to you straight away.
What do I get after each call?
An email with the caller’s number, the time, how long the call lasted, the outcome and a short summary. The full transcript can be included too, if you want it. You get one for missed calls and hang-ups too.
Can Amber book lessons?
What if she can't answer a question?
She says she doesn’t know and takes a message for you. She doesn’t guess.
Are calls recorded, and where is the data kept?
Yes. Amber tells callers at the start that calls are recorded and transcribed for quality and training. The recordings and transcripts are held on our hosting platform, Render, in Frankfurt, Germany (the EU) for 30 days, then deleted automatically. Every call is also emailed to you, and whether that email includes the full transcript is up to you and your school.
How much does it cost?
Plans start at £24.99 a month for 100 minutes, then 30p a minute. Busier schools can choose 200 minutes for £44.99 a month (then 25p a minute) or 300 minutes for £59.99 a month (then 20p a minute). There is a one-off £49 set-up fee.
Is there a contract?
No fixed term. There’s a one-off £49 set-up fee, done within 48 hours, then a rolling monthly plan that you cancel with 30 days’ notice. Your plan ends at your next monthly payment date.
